Getting out is only the first hard part.

Coming home after prison can feel like every door already closed before you even knock. Jobs are harder to get. Housing can be harder to find. Paperwork gets confusing. People judge you before they know you.

Fresh Start Society exists to make the next step clearer. We are building practical resources for people with felony convictions who are trying to find work, rebuild stability, and move forward without losing hope.

Soon, we plan to add job search tools focused on felony-friendly work, plus guides that explain where to start, what to avoid, and how to improve your chances.

Why we exist

The path back to normal can be lonely.

Release day can look like the finish line from the outside. In real life, it can be the start of a different fight. You are trying to rebuild trust, explain your record, find work, get paperwork straight, and make better choices while the world keeps reminding you of the worst thing on your background check.

A lot of people do not need a speech. They need someone to say, "Start here. Avoid this. Bring this document. Ask this question. Do not waste money on that." Having that kind of help earlier can save months of confusion.

That is the reason Fresh Start Society exists. We want to put clear, practical reentry information in one place for people who are serious about getting stable again.

What we are building

Less guessing. More next steps.

01

Work guides

Plain-English help for finding realistic jobs, explaining your record, and avoiding dead ends.

02

Reentry basics

Simple checklists for documents, housing questions, interviews, applications, and daily stability.

03

State-by-state info

Clear reminders that rules change by state, charge, sentence, time passed, and the job you want.

Coming soon

A job search built around second chances.

We are working toward a job search experience focused on roles that may be more realistic for people with felony records. Nothing can guarantee a hire, and every employer has its own rules, but people deserve a better starting point than guessing which listings are worth the time.

  • Felony-friendly and second-chance hiring leads
  • Filters for industries that are often more open to reentry applicants
  • Practical notes on applications, interviews, training, and certifications

We are starting with practical guides and building from there. Join the list and we will send updates as new resources and job tools go live.
